Know the moment AI reads you — and when a customer asks about you.

Google Analytics shows humans. AI bots don't run JavaScript — so the fastest-growing readers of your site are invisible to every tool you have.

Install one snippet, and the invisible becomes a live feed: "GPTBot read /pricing 2 minutes ago", "a ChatGPT user is asking about you right now", "ByteDance took 3 MB of your content this week". Then decide who stays.

✓ 2-minute install   ✓ Humans never tracked   ✓ Zero impact on site speed

The live dashboard link above is our own site's — we run the exact snippet we give you, and that page shows real crawler traffic on readbybots.com.

Example dashboard — illustrative numbers. Yours starts at zero and shows only real hits.

“Does AI even know we exist?”

Stop guessing. See GPTBot read your pricing page, timestamped — or see silence, and know visibility is the problem to fix.

“Is anyone asking AI about us?”

A ChatGPT-User hit means a real person asked ChatGPT about you at that moment. You'll watch demand happen, page by page.

“Who's taking our content?”

See exactly which training bots take what — then block them with one paste, without losing a single AI-search mention.

Live in three steps — with a real connection test

1

Register your domain

Type it below, get a tracking key and your private dashboard link. No account, no credit card.

2

Install with exact directions

Pick Next.js, Cloudflare or Express — numbered steps tell you exactly which file, which folder, which dashboard menu. Your key is pre-filled.

3

Press “Test connection”

We request your site as GPTBot and confirm your snippet reports it back — proof the whole chain works before you close the tab.

16 crawlers, each labelled by what its visits mean

Training bots collect your content to train models — blocking them costs no visibility. Search bots build the index AI answers cite from. Live user request means someone is asking an assistant about you right now.

Is your paywall actually holding?

Every dashboard includes a leak check: paste a members-only or paywalled URL and we request it exactly as GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Bytespider do — real user-agents, no cookies. If readable text comes back, scrapers read your premium content today. You'll see it per bot, with status codes.

Start tracking — free

Register your domain, paste the snippet, and the first crawler visit shows up within seconds of hitting your server.

  1. 1Register domain

Which site do you want to watch?

Enter the domain exactly as it's served — with or without www matters for the test. No account, no card.

Questions

Will it slow my site down?
No. The snippet checks one header (the user-agent) and only for AI bots fires a single fire-and-forget request that never blocks your response. For human visitors it does nothing at all. If our servers went down, your site wouldn't notice.
Do you track my visitors?
Never. The snippet reports only requests whose user-agent matches a known AI crawler. Human traffic is never sent to us, so there is nothing personal to store and no cookie banner implications.
Why do training bots and search bots matter differently?
Search and answer bots (OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot) index you so assistants can cite you — that traffic is future visibility. Training bots (GPTBot, CCBot, Bytespider) collect content to train models; blocking them costs you no AI-search visibility. The dashboard labels every bot so you can decide who stays.
A bot can fake its user-agent. How honest is this?
User-agent is how every analytics product attributes crawlers, and the major AI companies identify themselves truthfully. A scraper pretending to be Chrome won't appear here — this measures the declared AI crawlers, and we say so rather than promise magic.
What does the paywall leak check actually do?
It requests a URL you specify with the real user-agent strings of GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Bytespider — no cookies, no login — and shows what each got: HTTP status and how much readable text. If your members-only page comes back readable, scrapers can read it today.
What does it cost?
Free while in beta, up to fair use. When paid plans arrive, existing dashboards keep working and you'll be told well in advance.
